Laser therapy – the healing power of light
With the help of polarised light, we can also relieve pain by using targeted laser therapy to reach deep tissue layers. Laser treatment is gentle on the human body and is used to treat rheumatic complaints, headaches and other tendon inflammations.
In orthopaedics, we use polarised light in the form of opton lasers. They are gentle and safe.
What laser therapy does
Laser therapy activates the metabolic processes in the body’s cells. The light intensity of the laser penetrates and stimulates even the deepest tissues. The lasers work with 2 different wavelengths that:
• stimulate cellular metabolism
• strengthen the immune system
• improve blood circulation
• reduce tissue swelling
• relieve pain
• inhibit inflammation
• improve wound healing.
Areas of laser therapy application
Our orthopaedic practice at Lake Starnberg uses laser therapy to treat a number of conditions, with high success rates in the following areas:
• rheumatic complaints
• headaches
• neuritis
• muscle fibre tears
• bursitis
• osteoarthritis/joint wear
• muscular tensions
• back trouble
• tenosynovitis
• sprains and strains
• strengthening of the immune system.
Treatment with laser therapy
Laser therapy is a highly effective, completely painless treatment. Similar to acupuncture, laser therapy stimulates certain points that are exposed to a local stimulus. It leads to positive change in the cell wall structures and tones down pain receptors.
Laser therapy eliminates pain at its point of origin and supports the body’s self-healing powers without the use of medication. As a rule, 3 to 10 sessions are carried out, but the duration of treatment depends on your individual requirements.
Laser therapy is not covered by government insurance (gesetzliche Krankenkasse) and is therefore offered privately. Our orthopaedic practice in Tutzing offers comprehensive individual consultations on laser therapy.
